Phi Beta Sigma's Relationship to the Blue M&M Chocolate Candy

Did you know that it is partially because of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. that the blue M&M chocolate candy exists? In 1995, the brothers in the state of Alabama lead the charge and started a petition when the makers of the chocolate candies were looking to add a new color to the brand. The choices were blue, pink, purple, or no change. Blue won by an overwhelming 54% of the 10 million votes cast and Blue became the latest addition to the snack candy family!

The brothers of Phi Beta Sigma went to work and now we have the coolest of all the M&Ms in royal blue and white! So the next time you pick up a bag of M&Ms, think of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. and enjoy! Of course....save the blue ones for last!
